On January 1st, 2024, we received SPICY RUM, a brand new Dufour 37 (2024). At the time of writing this article, we have rented this boat for a gross amount of more than 85k USD, which is 33% of the value of the boat. Once the brokers’ commissions were paid, we were left with 75k USD, or 28% of the value of the boat. And all this, in little less then five months. We still have seven months of rental left in the year. At this pace, Spicy Rum should pay off within five years.

We currently have one person who want to buy 25% of the shares of this cat. We are therefore looking for investors for the remaining shares. 40' catamarans have become very popular. We estimate that this boat will bring in about 250k USD gross per year. Payback time is estimated between 5 and 7 years. |
